Highlands & Islands

Venue: Mountain Discovery Centre, Nevis Range, Fort William

Time: 10:30 to 13:30

Businesses in Lochaber are being invited to a free workshop on the benefits of innovation. The workshop takes place at the Mountain Discovery Centre, Nevis Range, Fort William at 10.30am on Wednesday 27 September and will include lunch and an opportunity for networking. It has been organised by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) following the launch this month of Co-Innovate, a new innovation support programme covering Western Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Irish Border region.

Fiona Fraser, Co-Innovate Innovation Programme Manager with HIE, said:

“This new programme will encourage and support innovation in small to medium enterprises (SMEs), particularly the commercialisation of new ideas. It will help businesses identify opportunities for growth and plan how best to make the most of those opportunities.

“I’m delighted that we will be joined by speaker Simon Erlanger, Managing Director of Isle of Harris Distillers Ltd, who will share his experiences of innovation through the journey of bringing Harris Gin to market.

“We want to make sure businesses in Lochaber are aware of the support that will be available to them through the new programme, with a view to them bringing forward their ideas. That’s what this workshop is all about and we look forward to welcoming people on the day.”
